Wind Expo, an exhibition of wind power technologies and products and a forum for expert discussions, was held at Tokyo Big Sight for three days from 28 February 2024.
Kan Watanabe, Head of Engineering, SSE Pacifico, participated as a panelist in the discussion titled “Japan’s challenge to become the world’s leading floating wind power generation country”. Watanabe introduced SSE Renewables’ Ossian Project (a joint venture between SSE Renewables, Marubeni Corporation and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners), which is currently being developed off the northeast coast of Scotland, and it will be as one of the largest floating offshore wind farms globally once completed.
SSE Pacifico will apply the knowledge and experience that SSE Renewables obtained in the UK to its business in Japan.
