SSE Pacifico was established in October 2021 to pursue offshore wind development in Japan.
SSE Renewables is currently leading the delivery of more offshore wind than any other company in the world, including Dogger Bank, the world's largest offshore wind farm. SSE Pacifico was created by combining one of the world leaders in offshore wind projects with Pacifico Energy, one of Japan's largest and most successful developers of renewable energy.
Not only do we have the world-class expertise of SSE Renewables, but we also have the know-how that Pacifico Energy has cultivated in Japan, and moreover, we have a highly experienced and talented team that have the capability to deliver real value to SSE Pacifico and the wider Japanese economy.
Recently, energy issues have been discussed around the globe. In Japan, offshore wind is considered as a future key technology in the energy mix which will provide greater energy security; help to lower energy prices and bring economic benefits.
We aim to contribute to the net zero world through clean energy while collaborating fully and openly with local communities and authorities to provide best-in-class integration of offshore wind farms with the local environment.
